How far along?
I am currently 24 weeks along. Approximately the size of an Eggplant!
Symptoms?
Sickness has thankfully stayed away! Apart from a wonderful tummy bug we all caught just before Christmas. I am starting to get a little hip and pelvic pain, and I am still doing everything I can to prevent me from getting SPD this time round. Keeping knees together when getting in and out of the car, using the lift where possible instead of stairs and sleeping with a pillow between my legs. I really want that water birth!! Heartburn comes and goes, depending on what I have eaten. My appetite fluctuates. I can go a whole day without realising I haven’t eaten a thing, then there are days where I need to eat everything in sight. Balance, right? My feet have also started to swell if I am on them for too long. I did a rather physical 12 hour shift at work, which resulted in me being unable to put my shoes on the next day.
Total weight gain/loss.
I had put on a lbs, but then with the sickness bug, I lost it again. So no weight changes this month.
Any Food cravings?
Still loving all the fruit and veg! Fresh apple and orange juice too. Raspberries! I eat a whole punnet in one go!
Maternity clothes?
I’m still in just the one pair of leggings. Although, they now have a hole in them, so I really, really need to get some more!
Any Stretch marks?
No new ones, but I’m sure as I get bigger they will appear!
How’s Sleep?
Due to my hips starting to give me a little trouble, I have been finding it difficult to get comfortable at night. Heartburn tends to happen at this time also which is just lovely. I have also had a few nigts where I’ll wake up at around 3am and that will be me awake for the day – Not ideal.
Best moment this week.
Feeling baby move a lot more. They are full on kicks now that sometimes take my breath away. I can also now feel the baby wriggling around, I had something stuck in my ribs the other day, that was a tad uncomfortable! Molly is becoming more and more aware of the baby. She will say good morning to my tummy every morning, she gives baby kisses and has full on chats with baby whilst resting her head on my stomach – Too cute!
Miss Anything?
Not really. With molly I missed sushi, but I don’t eat fish anymore, so I can still eat all the things I used to eat before falling pregnant. I can now drink tea and coffee without gagging which makes me very happy and mornings that little more manageable!
Felt Any Movement?
Oh yes! Full blown kicks, Molly got kicked in the head the other day – She told baby off. It was quite funny!
Gender?
Same since 16 weeks – We have decided to be team Yellow and not find out. We have picked our girls name and we think we finally have a boys name! It’s so exciting not knowing. I didn’t realise how exciting it would make it!
Happy or Moody most of the time?
My mood has drastically improved the last month. I have been feeling a lot more calm. I am becoming more tired, but I think that’s due to disrupted sleep recently.
Looking forward to..
I am looking forward to our 4D scan which can now be booked! I am also excited to start my mat leave, to go through Molly’s old things and start getting things ready for baby to arrive.
