Pumpkin Carving | Blogtober Day 30

Throughout my childhood, pumpkin carving was always a big thing that you do around Halloween. I carve a pumpkin every single year without fail. In my adult years, it has been at work, but this year we decided to do some at home as it is Molly’s first Halloween!

We managed to get Liam’s parents involved too as they both had the evening off work. It was so lovely to do something like this all together. Everyone had their own pumpkin to carve, including Molly. Molly liked helping scoop out the middle of the pumpkin, as well as eat it!!

If you aren’t a massive fan of carving out pumpkins, there are so many other way to get creative! You can paint your pumpkins, you could stick stickers onto your pumpkins. You could even glue some crayons around the stalk and then use a heat gun or hair dryer to melt them – creating a waterfall of colour.  I also dont use candles or tea lights in my pumpkins anymore. You can get the fake tea lights, or even use glow sticks! This year we put some small flashing toys inside to create a colour changing pumpkin!

The possibilities are endless!

Pumpkin carving will be something we do every single year, as Molly get older and starts school, I’m going to be the kinda mum that will have a pumpkin carving party, complete with Halloween music and themed snacks!!

How do you guys decorate your pumpkins for Halloween?
