Maternity Leave Recap | Blogtober Day 28

It’s coming to the end of October, which means my maternity leave is sadly coming to an end. I have been extremely lucky in the fact I have been able to take a full year off, but that doesn’t mean going back to work any easier. Back In August I created a bucket list of things I wanted to do before I went back to work

Go Swimming More:

This I did manage to do. Molly is such a water baby how could I not? She has become so confident in the water, dunking her face in the water, if I sit her on the edge and clap my hands, she will throw herself forward into my arms with the biggest smile on her face! When I return to work, Liam and I have already said we will take her swimming once a week when we are both off. This is something I dont think we will ever stop doing!

Get Out & About More:

We definitely went out more as a family. I think once the summer holidays ended and things calmed down a bit, It became a lot easier to go out. Soft play, Farms, Garden centers, Chessington world of adventures, swimming, shopping trips, pumpkin picking – We did a lot!

Take A Few Mama & Molly Day Trips:

This didn’t really happen. We had Mama and Molly shopping days where we were out and about form 11am-7pm. But we never made it into London – Sad face!

Get Scrapbooks Up To Date:

I have well and truly failed at this. No progress has been made with the scrapbooks in any kind of way. I’ a little gutted as it was something I really wanted to do. Don’t get me wrong, I still plan on doing them, I will now just have a 2017 album, a “Molly’s First year” album AND 2018 album to do all at the same time!

Do More Home Activities:

We have done more home activities over the last few months than throughout the whole year! To be honest, It has a major thing to do with Molly’s age. She is now finally at an age where she is interested and able to do things like Painting, Sensory baskets/bottles/bags. We really get a reaction from her now! We have so much planned over the festive season, I can’t wait!

More Date Nights With Liam:

We failed well and truly at this. No date nights were had! We are planning on going out to the cinema at some point, but now I am going back to work its going to be a little bit harder to match our schedules! Yay for shift work!

So there you have it. Some of the things I wanted to do I aced, and did really well. Others I was completely shit and didn’t even come close to achieving! Don’t get me wrong, they can still be achieved now I am going to work – We have so much planned for Nov-Jan! It’ll just mean It was done on my maternity leave.
