Molly Is Seven Months Old

Dear Molly,

7 months old seems quite a lot. I’ve know I’ve said this a million times but it feels that it has all gone so quick, too quick. Yet it also feels like I’ve known you forever and that you have always been a part of my life. It has been 7 months of pure and complete joy.

Your monthly updates:

Personality:

Your personality continues grow with every passing month. You have a very inquisitive mind, you’re kind and so caring. Hardly ever crying or making a fuss and you go with the flow of our busy lives. Always happy, forever smiling and giggling. We are however starting to see glimpses of attitude when we say no to you, or when we take something you shouldn’t have off of you.

If we dont feed you fast enough you grunt at us, and you have started to shout at people if they aren’t paying attention or if we are having a conversation. You also yelled at a woman in Asda until she turned around. You then smiled and waved at her. We couldn’t help but laugh, it was so funny!! Even though you cant talk yet, you are so expressive and make yourself well and truly heard.

Five words I’d use to describe your personality are:
  • Loud
  • Loving
  • Sweet
  • Sassy
  • Sociable

Size:

My little chunk, you now weigh 21lbs. That’s 1.5 stone! You are also so tall!  We need to actually measure your height but everyone says how tall you are! In the park the other day, a mum asked how old you are and was shocked to hear you’re only 7 months, and she said that you’re going to be tall. We shall see because both myself and your dad aren’t exactly tall ourselves! Your clothing sizes are still all over the place. We have upgraded you from sleepsuites to actual pajamas. 2 piece big girls pajamas. So grown up! I have recently just put away all of your remaining 0-3 clothing as well as your 3-6 month clothing. My heart broke a little. You’re growing up so fast.

You are now in size 4 pull ups! We made the change from nappy to pull ups because someone learnt how to undo the tabs on their nappy. Several times now I’d left you to do something, come back in and you’ve somehow taken your nappy off and are freely rolling around.

Health & Development:

Its been another very big month for you developmentally wise. You now sit amazingly well. It’s amazing that you will sit on the floor and play with your toy’s for almost a hour at a time. You were so close to crawling, getting up on your knees from sitting. That was until you realized you can get anywhere you want to by rolling and scooting around army style. We have had to get the playpen out because there’s no way we can leave you in one place safely anymore. You have however, started to pull yourself up to standing using the coffee table, the sofa, our legs! You haven’t quite worked out how to cruise along furniture yet, and we are totally ok with that!!

I dont quite know how it happened but you now have 7 teeth. 7!!! You went from just your bottom two to having 7 in the space of 3 weeks! You babble away like a good-an these days. Exploring the weird and wonderful sounds you can make. ‘Mama’ is officially your first word. I wont lie – I am very happy about this! You also wave when someone say hello and goodbye. You clap your hands when we say clever girl and you wave your arms about like a loon and cheer when the football is on. For heavens sake Slow down!

Feeding:

You have progressed a lot when it comes to food and eating. You now eat 3 meals a day as well as an afternoon snack. We are choosing to raise you on Veggie/Vegan diet, the same as us until your old enough to make a choice about it yourself and BLW is going so so well. You have your own fox plate from Bamboo Bamboo and you love it, as do we! You pick and choose what you want to eat off the plate and are SO close to being able to scoop things up with a spoon. At the moment you kind of push it to one side of the plate, and then get angry because there’s nothing actually on the spoon, it normally end up on the floor!

When it comes to meals, you basically eat what we eat. Deconstructing things a little for you so you can taste thing’s separately and eat it easier. For example fajitas. Instead of having a whole wrap for you, you would have a little bit of everything set out separately.

You are still offered 3/4 7-9oz bottles every day and you just drink what you want. We don’t force you and we aren’t worried if you dont want anything because we know you’re eating 3 main meals every day.

Sleep:

You are still a gem at sleeping and sleep through the night until about 8am. Sometimes we co-sleep and you snuggle up with us. It’s so cute. You have started to roll in your sleep which at first petrified us. Now we know you’re pretty good and moving around so it doesn’t worry us as much. You prefer to now sleep on your side as apposed to your back or your front. You still like to have 2 naps a day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon.

What a gorgeous baby!! Absolutely loved this post; I know I want to continue to blog when I’m a mommy someday, and writing up posts like this will be something I’m sure I’ll enjoy. I think writing up blog posts or journal entries about the growth of your baby is something both you & her can do one day. Can’t wait to read more from you as I’m a new follower of your lovely blog! xx
