Pregnancy Skincare Essentials With Mama Mio

This Post contains Gifted Pregnancy Skincare Items, However all opinions are my own*

When I was Pregnant with Molly, I was terrible at looking after and caring for my skin. To be honest, I have never been great at taking care of my skin. I never moisturised my bump, or anywhere for that matter. When I fell pregnant this time round, my skin is completely different. It is dryer and I have had far more blemishes, especially on my cheeks. I stopped wearing make-up as that made it worse, but nothing really helped it. I was trying to find a skincare routine that would work for me when the lovely people from Mama Mio got in contact and asked if they could send over a few treats – I was over the moon.

Mama Mio Skincare is a dedicated pregnancy skincare brand. Created by mums, for mums. They have a wide range of products that have mums covered throughout the whole 9 months of their pregnancy and even after.

I have been using their products for a few weeks now and have already seen such a drastic change in the condition of my skin, not just on my face but my entire body.

The Tummy Rub Butter

Despite me being pregnant before, my bump this time round is a lot bigger, and it got bigger a lot quicker. I found my bump to be quite dry and itchy at times, so I was extremely grateful for Mama Mios Tummy Rub Butter. Its a beautifully smelling body butter specifically for baby bumps, created to hydrate and aid elasticity as your bump grows. Minimising itchiness and the appearance of stretch marks!

I started to use this when in hospital, and my word the difference was almost instant! It left my bump feeling super soft and didn’t leave any kind of oily residue like some butters do. I got several compliments from the midwives on how soft it felt as well – slightly odd compliment, but one I was totally ok with!

Pregnancy Boob Tube

When you’re pregnant, it’s not just your tummy that goes through some major changes. Your boobs do as well! I started to notice stretch marks around my boobs at about 28 weeks pregnant. They felt full, and sore and I actually started to leak at 34 weeks. Since using the boob tube, ive noticed the stretch marks fading slightly, as well as it leaving the ladies feeling very soft!

My breastfeeding journey with Molly was non existent as she had no interest in breastfeeding. So I am hoping it will be a different story this time around. Mama Mio do a nipple cream which I have been eyeing up the last few weeks, so I might give that ago once we start our breastfeeding journey.

Lucky Legs Cooling Gel

Irritable, itchy legs has to be one of the most infuriating and frustrating things to have during your pregnancy. With Molly I had it really bad, especially in the beginning. This time though I have had really bad itching legs the majority of the way through. I was using a cooling gel form the body shop, however nothing relieves the itch like Lucky Legs cooling gel. The gel also helps to reduce puffiness in the ankles and feet, another must if you’re chasing around a toddler all day and have some serious kankles like I do! I tend to put it on before I get into bed, so I feel fully relaxed and with a hope that the itching legs won’t keep me up all night!

Gorgeous Glow Facial Wash

I have always struggled with finding a cleanser product that works for my skin. I normally just wash my face with water and hope for the best. However, since becoming pregnant, my skin has acquired some dryness and red patches. Probably thanks to the hormones and stress! Gorgeous Glow is a wonderfully smelling facial wash that is super gentle on your skin. It’s designed to fight blemishes with gentle exfoliants, cleansing the skin but never leaving it feeling tight. It contains tea-tree oil which naturally help fight against breakouts. I use this a few times a week and have noticed such a difference in the condition and appearance of my skin!

Honestly, I can’t thank the lovely people from Mama Mio enough, as these products came into my life at the perfect time, and have made such a difference! I highly recommend them all! As I said above, I want to try their nipple cream, and get my hands on some more room spray for labour as it is amazing!!

Have you ever used Mama Mio products? What was your favorite pregnancy skincare product?
