Scotland Trip Day 3 + 4

Shopping and the largest soft play in Glasgow!

After a super crazy hectic day yesterday, we wanted to chill out before the wedding on Saturday. We decided to have a mooch around Glasgow as I still needed to get shoes and a cardie for the big day. Glasgow wasn’t as busy as we thought it was going to be. We found a really cool Manga shop and it sold the cutest Totoro items. I wanted to get Molly a giant Totoro plush, but then Liam was quick ( and sensible ) to remind me how we would get it home.

I managed to find some shoes in New Look as well as a cardie. My feet have suddenly become wider since having Molly. I’m still a 5. I just have to get wide fit. Anyone else’s feet change size after having a baby?!

We had fun in Hamley’s, looking at all the toys and giant animals they had dotted around the store. There was a massive Elephant that you couldn’t help but hug. It was so soft! Next was the Disney store where I managed to get Molly and Mickey and Minnie plush ( way smaller than Totoro )as well as some festive pajamas. I have to be really strict when I go into a Disney store or I will end up buying everything! We chilled out in the tv section of the shop and just watched some of the cartoons whilst we gave Molly a quick snack and play with Mama’s phone!

The day ended with us searching for food! We found a cute little Christmas Market! Turns out it’s the market we are going to go to on Sunday with friends, but we couldn’t help have a little look around. It was pretty similar to the one in Edinburgh, cute little market stalls selling food, drink and gifts. The only difference as that they had a Vegan stand!!! They had the most amazing fries and an array of vegan friendly toppings. We went for the Vegan Poutine and holy crap it was amazing!!

The evening ended with us going back to the hotel and getting straight into bed. It feels like we are going to need a holiday after this holiday!

Day 4

I woke up earlier than both Molly and Liam in the morning, so sat there with my coffee and googled soft play places in the area. There was one about a 15 min cab ride away, so I quietly got Mollys changing bag packed, loading up the buggy and got myself ready. We hung out in bed for a bit, I had another coffee with Liam and Molly had some breakfast. Then we ordered a cab and were off! We didn’t quite know what to expect, the place looked pretty big on the website. Well, we literally couldn’t believe the size of the place when we walked in – it was gigantic!!

The ceilings were so high and the space is immense. Its basically a soft play in a warehouse, there’s a massive soft play area for older children, a rather large baby and toddler secion – eqiped with ball pit and a large slide. There was a little go kart track, so many slides of all varieties and an indoor football pitch. Not to mention the large cafe area and copious amounts of amusement machines/games/rides all over the place. It was overwhelmingly amazing!

We had so much fun there today, It was perfect! We played in the baby and toddler bit for a while and practiced some walking with Molly. We took her on a slide for the first time and I can’t tell who loved it more to be honest, us or Molly! They had this little go kart track which was open to anyone. All you had to do was insert £1 coin into a vehicle of your choice and you were off!! It was so much fun!!!

I think we ended up spending about £4 on these because Molly loved it so much – We did too, but we didn’t cry when it was time to get off! We ran out of things to do as all the signs said for over 5’s. I asked a lady who worked there if it was ok to take Molly around the larger soft play area – o slides, but just to explore a little more. She was completely fine with it which we were really happy about.

It was so lovely to see Molly explore and have fun. She was so excited and crawling all over the place at the speed of light. There were tunnels, trampolines and one section that was basically a load of birthing balls covered in a plastic sheet – Hilarious watching Molly try and climb over them and just bounce around.

Overall we had a wonderful time and were really impressed. The food from the cafe was actually alright and the coffee was like rocket fuel – just what every tired parent at soft play needs! It was all reasonably priced too, Perfect! I honestly wish there was something like this near where we live, I can’t wait go hopefully go back in the summer.

For dinner we found a Pizza express close to our hotel. The food was amazing as always. It was quite busy in there, but the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Molly was given a little activity pack which she loved playing with whilst waiting for food. She tolerated wearing the hat for quite a while, but didn’t quite grasp the concept of colouring it in!

We had the wedding the next day so headed straight back to the hotel for a bath and an early night.

Have you ever been to Wonder World soft play in Glasgow?
