The Autumn Tag || Blogtober Day 10

Pumpkins

The beautiful Laura from Em and Me has kindly tagged me to do the Autumn Tag and I was far to happy to take part. If you don’t know by now, Autumn through until the New year is my favourite time of year. I freaking love it!!

What signifies the start of autumn to you?

To me, Its the start of September when the weather gets cooler. That’s when I start burning vanilla  pumpkin spiced candles and watching Hocus Pocus on repeat. This year it was a lot warmer throughout September. However, call it cliche but as soon as I see falling leaves I’m declaring autumn! Autumn is all about leaf crunching for me and as soon as I see one golden orange leaf I’m planning Halloween!

Best way to spend a rainy day?

For me, my favourite thing to do when its raining is sit in the living room where I can hear the rain hitting the roof of the conservatory. I turn all the lights off apart from 2 lamps, light a million candles and put the fire on. Molly and I cuddle up with blankets and we watch a film and stay in our jammies all day. She drinks warm milk and I have a nice cup of tea. Basically it’s a day of ultimate cosiness!

Your most fond autumn memory?

For me it would be going out and about. Picking a pumpkin, playing in the leaves and collecting conkers. You had to find the biggest conker, take it home and thread a shoelace through it praying it wouldn’t split! You’d the cover it in things like clear nail varnish, or PVA glue to try and make it as strong as possible for when you went back to school and had conker fights! Anyone else? You aren’t allowed to have conker fights in school anymore. 🙁

Favourite autumn scent?

Pumpkin spice. I’m obsessed with Pumpkin spice and TK Max have this amazing candle that I need to get more of. Pair it with a strong vanilla scent and you are good to go!

What are you most excited for this autumn?

I am excited about it being Molly’s first Autumn. We have so many adventures planned. My work are having a bonfire night with a show specifically for kids, so that will be fun to take her in the carrier. W plan on going pumpkin picking, carving pumpkins, dressing up, exploring the woods. I can’t wait!

Favourite autumn movie?

Autumn Movies… Step Mom to me is a really warm and cosy film. Does that count? If not, Halloween movies in our house start getting watched as soon as Autumn starts. Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, Haunted Mansion, Casper and so many more!

What TV shows are you looking forward to this autumn?

I have been looking forward to The Walking Dead starting again. But to be honest, I’m a sucker for Gilmore Girls. If I could live in Stars Hallow that would be great!

Favourite autumn colour?

For me, nothing scream Autumn more than mustard yellows, dark, warm maroon reds, burnt oranges, jade greens paired with greys and blacks.

Favourite autumn fashion trend?

All the jumpers. I love a good jumper. Pair it with jeans/leggins or even a dress/skirt with some tights and a pair of boots and you are good to go!

Your most loved outdoor autumn activity?

I love an autumnal activity! I created a Autumn scavenger hunt and I can’t wait to go and do this with Molly. We love going for walks anyway. Playing in the park, if its warm enough going for a picnic. Taking a trip to the local farm. We love anything outdoors really!

Can you relate to any of the things I put? What do you love the most about Autumn?

Warm maroon reds & burn oranges are most certainly the colours of autumn for me as well!! Pumpkin spice is for sure a fav scent as mine, and I’m basic enough that I really enjoy the Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks 🙂
